His Royal Highness Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, visited the British Hospital during his visit to Uruguay. This is the second time that Prince Edward visited the British Hospital and, through his tour along the new facilities, he was pleasantly surprised by the changes that have been made in the last years which have turned the Hospital into a national and regional reference centre. Since the previous visit of the Earl of Wessex in 2005, the British Hospital carried out and successfully concluded the new services that led to a new Intensive Care Unit of latest generation, new rooms and to the Imaging Unit which has been recently inaugurated. In the company of the Board of Directors of the British Hospital and headed by the president Paul Beare, and the General Manager Walter Pereyra, Prince Edward toured the new facilities as well as other areas of the Central Building that were improved and re-equipped to provide a better service to its members and users. His presence meant a great honor and a special recognition to the British Hospital and to all the people who work in it, representing a dynamic, modern and vanguard institution, pride of the British Community in Uruguay.
